Double podium for Honda-RedMoto World Enduro Team and Davide Soreca in Spain

It was a great performance from the Honda-RedMoto World Enduro Team this weekend at the Spanish GP, raced on Saturday and Sunday in Puerto Lumbreras (south of Murcia Autonomous Community).

Davide Soreca dominated the EJ class with an outstanding win on Saturday: taking four victories, two second place finishes, two third place finishes, one fourth place and a sixth place in the special prologue ridden on Friday night.

On Sunday, Soreca continued to stay with the protagonists and visited the third step of the podium. These two results have moved the young Italian into the lead of the World EJ standings.

After finishing seventh on Friday, Saturday saw Giacomo Redondi attack hard and stay within the top ten throughout the day. After making a couple of mistakes and falling twice, he was unable to go beyond eighth place. Sunday was better for “Red”, as he finished just shy of sixth.

Initially it was a good Enduro2 race for Davide Guarneri, who finished eighth on Saturday. However, a few falls slowed him down on Sunday and he finished 16th.

Davide Soreca

“On Saturday it was an amazing win; we have the right set up and I had a good feeling. On Sunday I finished third, two small mistakes made me lose second place. I didn’t win because Freeman was really strong, but I go home as leader of the World standing.”

Giacomo Redondi

“The first day was pretty tough, while the second was more positive because I managed to stay in the top positions, fighting against Charlier. However, I made a mistake in the penultimate special test and I finished seventh, half a second from sixth and 13 seconds from Charlier. It was a pity because I could have finished fifth.”

Davide Guarneri

“It was a tough GP. I was fast but I made several mistakes. I’m sorry, because I couldn’t get the results I wanted.”

Carlo Curci

“It was a tough race with natural obstacles such as large rocks and rough ground. We had great results in the EJ class with Soreca, who finished first on Saturday and third on Sunday. Redondi was very fast on Sunday confirming his potential, the last extreme test was unfortunate. Guarneri was fast but needs to be more consistent, especially on Sunday when he fell in the last cross test, compromising his race. We need to keep working and be ready for the upcoming competitions.”
