Honda (UK) toasts after sales service excellence in first Bodyshop of the Year Awards

Twenty four finalists from across Honda (UK)’s aftersales network joined senior management from Honda (UK) in the brand’s first Bodyshop of the Year Awards last Friday, 23 October.

Chiswick Honda walked away with the Sikken Bodyshop of the Year title, while Bodytek Taunton scooped the PPG Bodyshop of the Year prize. Joining them in the group of winners were Balgores Motor Group (East Anglia), taking home the Audatex Investment in Technology and Training award.

With customer service such a key focus for Honda (UK) and its bodyshop partners, the competition in this category was always going to be tight. In the first of two awards in this area Crown Honda Hendon and Crown Motor Group Bushey emerged as joint winners of the Aviva Bodyshop Customer Service award, both scoring a perfect 100% in judging against a number of factors, most notably the willingness of customers to recommend the business to others. Additionally the Greenacre Honda Blackburn dealership and its bodyshop partner Gaskell Motor Bodies (Blackburn) won the HAA Customer Service Award.

One of the most anticipated results was the winner of Estimator of the Year competition, a category hotly-contested by 110 entrants from across the country. In a challenging test run in conjunction with Audatex, a leading technology provider in the car claims processing industry, those taking part first had to provide a perfect assessment from photographs of a damaged vehicle, with ten finalists then going through to assess a car live under the scrutiny of judges at an event in Coventry. Andy McIndoe of Phoenix Body Centre (Paisley) took first place, ahead of runners-up Andy Johnson of Brooklands Auto Body Centre (Lincoln) and James Ousby of Kynaston Autobodies (Exeter).

The winners were awarded their prizes by Nick Holmes, Head of Customer & After Sales for Honda (UK) and a representative of each award sponsor at a ceremony at the Silverstone circuit.
