"I feel absolutely great! The race went perfectly. I started from 6th grid, but our plan worked, and by the end of the first lap I was running 2nd and managed to take the fight to Dovi. The same as in Thailand, I made my move in the closing stages, and took the lead. When I saw the sign from the pits that Dovi crashed, I felt sorry for him but I knew I had won the championship, and it was a very, very happy feeling."

Takahiro Hachigo, President & Representative Director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

“I send my most heartfelt congratulations to Marc Márquez who has continued his challenge at the pinnacle of motorcycle racing, and has been rewarded with his fifth championship title. I’m also delighted that he has secured the title at Honda’s home grand prix, in front of all of the fans and sponsors. Honda will continue to strive in bringing joy to its motor sports fans. I thank all of our supporters, all over the world.”

I congratulate Marc for another job well done. I would also like to thank the team for all of their support for him, our many sponsors who have supported our racing activities, and MotoGP fans all over the world for supporting the sport.”
