The 24 Heures Motos beckons Honda’s endurance teams

This weekend (20/21 April) the Circuit Bugatti in France hosts the second round of the 2018/2019 FIM Endurance World Championship, with the 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans. Reigning World Champions F.C.C. TSR Honda France will be looking to defend their title crown, while the Honda Endurance Racing team will be looking to return to the podium with the Fireblade.

Half a year has passed since the teams were last in action at the opening round of the 2018/2019 championship, last September at the legendary Bol d’Or. F.C.C. TSR Honda France celebrated after the race with riders Freddy Foray, Mike di Meglio and Josh Hook taking the win after 24 hours aboard the Honda Fireblade, and their sights will firmly be on the win again this weekend.

The Honda Endurance Racing team sees a refreshed rider line-up for Le Mans, as joining Sébastien Gimbert aboard the #111 Fireblade are former MotoGP riders Randy de Puniet and Yonny Hernandez. Having completed successful pre-season tests the Honda squad is confident ahead of the 24 hours.

Further Honda teams to challenge the grueling 24-hour event include National Motors, RAC 41 (STK) and SC-Project Paton Reparto Corse (STK).

Le Mans has proved a good hunting ground for the Fireblade in recent years with a Honda 1-2 at last year’s edition after F.C.C. TSR Honda France took the win and Honda Endurance Racing were runner-up in second place.

Endurance racing is a growing sport – not only in fan attendance, but also on track where 60 teams will make the start of the 24 Heures Motos this weekend. Racing is set to get underway on Saturday (20 April) at 1500hrs local time (BST+1) and will finish on Sunday (21 April) at 1500hrs local time (BST+1).
