Honda-RedMoto World Enduro Team on the podium with Davide Soreca in the UK

This weekend saw the Honda-RedMoto World Enduro Team tackle the seventh round of the Enduro World Championship, held at Hawkstone Park, Great Britain.

There was a new format for this GP: on Saturday there were 12 special tests with the Enduro Sprint formula, while on Sunday a three-hour Cross Country test (as seen in the American GNCC). All the tests were located within 100 metres, within easy walking distance. There was a successful organisation, with no downtime, which was well accepted by teams, riders and spectators.

In the EJ class, Davide Soreca claimed the fourth position on Saturday, while on Sunday he was on the second step of the podium at the end of a great race. This has strengthened his leadership in the world standing.

In the Enduro2 category, Davide Guarneri finished fifth on both days with an amazing performance on Saturday, and he was a great interpreter of the cross country test on Sunday.

It was an outstanding race in EnduroGP for Giacomo Redondi who finished twice eighth and moved himself up to fifth in the world standings.

There is no time to relax for the Honda-RedMoto World Enduro Team as now they go home to prepare for the last round of the Enduro World Championship, to be held at Schopau, Germany (21-22 October).

Davide Soreca

On Saturday I was fighting for the victory when I unfortunately crashed; the damage to the bike made me lose time and I finished fourth. In the early hours of Sunday I struggled to find the right pace, I fell several times losing the gap with Freeman, but then I started to push and I managed to finish second.

Davide Guarneri

It was a tough race. The track was physically challenging and the first laps were so hard. Then I found the right pace, succeeding in finishing in fifth on both days. I really liked the race format and I think it can be the future of this sport.

Giacomo Redondi

I was racing good on Sunday, but then I fell and I dislocated my left shoulder. I continued my race trying to get as many points as possible. It was too bad because I could be in the top five.

Carlo Curci

It was a strange weekend with the new GNCC format. We are satisfied with the results, above all of the second place of Davide Soreca in the EJ class. It was very good from the other riders too; it’s a pity for Guarneri who had good pace but missed out on the podium. Redondi’s crash compromised his part of the race, but he still managed to get points in the championship standings. We go back home happy and aware that once again we have demonstrated the performance and reliability of our bikes.
