HONDA (UK) LAUNCH NEW OUTBOARD ENGINES

Honda Marine reinforces its award-winning range of portable engines with the launch of three new outboards: BF4 (4hp), BF5 (5hp) and BF6 (6hp).
Packed with the very latest Honda technologies, the BF range of engines are designed to meet the customer’s highest expectations to power small boats or dinghies.

PORTABILITY
The new BF engines are among the lightest in their class, each designed with ergonomics at the forefront of the engineers’ minds to make them as portable and easy to carry as possible. A foldable tiller handle makes storage easy and convenient too.

EASE OF OPERATION
The three outboards are easy to start, whatever the engine temperature, as each is equipped with Honda’s new decompression mechanism that reduces the force needed to pull-start. Stopping is just as easy, at the touch of a button.
Vibration levels are kept to an absolute minimum thanks to innovative rubber mounts, developed by Honda and incorporated into the design of each BF engine, ensuring a smooth and comfortable cruise across the full rpm range.
Honda’s high output alternators offer a charging system capable of providing up to 6A of power or charge to phones, lights or on-board GPS systems.

PERFORMANCE
They may be compact and lightweight but the new BF range still packs a punch. A 127cm3 engine provides strong acceleration and high levels of torque.
A large 1.5l fuel tank gives each the longest continuous running time in their class. Additionally, the BF5 and BF6 can be used with an external fuel tank for longer journeys. Five propellers are also available in order to cover every torque and speed requirement.

RELIABILITY
These three engines share the same engine block and benefit from Honda’s unparalleled four-stroke expertise and innovation. For protection, all feature an oil alert system which immediately warns of oil pressure drops and limits engine speed to 2,300 rpm.
Available in short (15 inch/38 cm) and long (20 inch/51 cm) shaft variants the BF4, BF5 and BF6 will be launched at the Southampton Boat Show, 16 September 2016, and will also be showcased at Genoa, Italy Boat Show, 20 September 2016 and at The Grand Pavois, France on 28 September 2016.
The BF4 BF5 and BF6 range will launch across Honda dealerships mid-November 2016 with Honda’s industry leading six-year domestic and two-year commercial warranty on all marine outboard engines.
