Honda Volunteers help pack a little joy this Christmas

11 Honda volunteers assembled and wrapped over 200 Christmas food hampers at the Bracknell Food Bank, to help those in need this Christmas time.

The hampers consisting of tinned food, biscuits, chocolates and tea are set to be distributed to less fortunate residents in the Bracknell area, to help those in need of support throughout the festive period. Many of the recipients are families and vulnerable adults who are unable to provide for themselves.

Volunteers finished packing the hampers in a speedy hour and thirty minutes, leaving a generous amount of time to load the delivery vehicle for allocation in the same day.

Rebecca Stead, Head of Network Development and volunteer on the day said- “It was a great experience and very humbling for all. It was a great way for us all to give back to our community and help make a real difference for those in need”.

The Bracknell foodbank works all year round alongside the Trussell Trust. With a network of over 400 foodbanks, the Trussell Trust give emergency food and support to people in need across the UK, where thirteen million live below the poverty line. In 2015/16 alone, over 1,109,300 three day emergency food supplies were donated to people in crisis.
