Honda UK unveils stand design for Goodwood Festival of Speed
  • Honda Playset places each car centre stage
  • Stand design themed around children’s toy boxes
  • Goodwood marks first time the 2015 product line up has been seen together in the UK

Honda has released the first images of its stand for Goodwood Festival of Speed. Dubbed the ‘Honda Playset’, the imaginative design has been created to look like a collection of children’s toy cars with over-sized toy boxes featuring life-size cars sitting inside each one.

Never before seen at Goodwood, the Honda Playset will be located at the front of the grid, right by the famous hill climb track, showcasing the personality of the range, with each box displaying a single product. Goodwood marks the first time in the UK that Honda has displayed the full refreshed product line up for 2015.

As well as showcasing the cars, each box has been designed to offer a unique experience once inside as well as the chance to win exciting prizes relating to each toy box. For example, with the Jazz creative focused around shopping, visitors could win a shopping spree at Selfridges.

The full UK line up on the stand will include the all new Jazz, NSX, Civic Type R, HR-V and refreshed Civic and CR-V. The McLaren-Honda MP4-30 will be a central feature with its full racing story playing theme to the Formula 1 box.

Phillip Crossman, Managing Director, Honda UK comments: “This is a big year for Honda and what better way to display that than with an imaginative stand for Goodwood. Each one of our products has its own character and the stand has been designed to showcase these qualities by giving each car a visually distinctive platform. Having thought outside of the box; we’re certainly going to stand out from the crowd – by placing our cars inside the box!”

David Chidlow, Creative Director at Jack Morton, the creative agency behind the stand, added: “From the outset of the concept we wanted to showcase Honda’s curiosity with motor design and bring it to life in an ‘adult scale', linking back to Honda's tagline of 'The Power of Dreams'. So the thought was to bring to life the moment when the Power of Dreams is first sparked, as a child, exploring and enjoying car design when so many of us first fall in love with cars.”
