Amazing last world Grand Prix for Honda-RedMoto World Enduro team

Amazing last world Grand Prix for Honda-RedMoto World Enduro team

It was another amazing weekend for the Honda-RedMoto World Enduro team as they tackled the last round of the 2016 season in Cahors, France.

It was an important weekend for Honda-RedMoto as they took the opportunity to present the two new 2017 CRF models: the Honda-RedMoto CRF450R and the Honda-RedMoto CRF450RX, which will be available soon.

After taking the EJ World Title last time out at the GP of Italy, Giacomo Redondi took his 15th consecutive victory after Saturday’s race. Unfortunately, the young Italian was unable to make it a season-long clean sweep after a fall in Sunday’s race lost him some time and meant that he took second.

Among the 2016 Enduro champions Redondi boasts the highest score and, if the EJ class had been considered part of the EnduroGP class, he would have finished sixth on Saturday and seventh on Sunday.

In the E2 class it was a positive weekend for Davide Guarneri who finished the two races in fifth and sixth, finishing the EnduroGP in ninth and seventh.

In the E1 class Oscar Balletti finished fourth on Saturday and sixth on Sunday, while Alessandro Battig took tenth on Sunday before an unfortunate retirement on Sunday.

Davide Soreca took two good fifth places in the EJ class.

Although the World Championship is over for the year, the Honda-RedMoto team don’t stop working as next weekend they will be back on the racetrack for the last test in the Enduro Italian Championship, held in Casanova di Staffora.

Giacomo Redondi

“A positive weekend. It was too bad that I could not take the sixteenth consecutive victory. The knee is still sore because of the accident in August, but I hope to get back to full fitness for the Italian Championship”.

Alessandro Battig

“On Saturday I left a bit slow but I managed to recover in the last lap, finishing in the top ten. On Sunday I started in the best way but then I was forced to retire”.

Oscar Balletti

“On Saturday I missed the podium and finished in fourth place by only six tenths. Unfortunately on Sunday I slipped twice losing several seconds. This was the second race after the accident in late January and it wasn’t easy. Now the goal is to get on the podium next weekend for the Italian Championship”.

Davide Guarneri

“That has been the most positive GP of the year. I trained a lot in the enduro paths and I felt comfortable. On Saturday I missed the top five for a second, while on Sunday I finished fifth in E2 and seventh in the EnduroGP. For sure there was an improvement”.

Davide Soreca

“It was an unusual GP for me because the stages were quite simple compared to the previous seven races. I probably overestimated the situation finishing fourth on both days”.

Carlo Curci

“It was a positive weekend for the whole team. We had some significant results, especially with Guarneri who has proven his potential and growth. It was a positive performance for Redondi who had two very good races. On Sunday unfortunately he did not find the right speed to get the sixteen consecutive victories. We are happy with the results. We thank all the sponsors and those who have supported us. The World Championship is over and the next races are the final round of the Italian Championship and the Enduro Six Days in Spain”.
