Team Profile: The Honda European 150 Championship

The Honda European 150 Championship is the junior support championship to the FIM Motocross World Championship. Open to 11-14 year-old riders, the prize for the 2015 champion will be a Honda-supported ride in the EMX250 series in 2016 aboard a Honda CRF250R.

The championship consists of six rounds in 2015, each featuring two races, qualifying and practice sessions. The only costs involved for the riders are travel to and accommodation at each race. The bikes, technical support, series guidance, consumables and entry fees are all provided free of charge by Honda in an effort to remove the cost barrier of youth racing, allowing true talent to shine through, irrespective of financial means.

Riders are selected to participate in the series based upon their results in national races, recommendations from their national racing bodies, and new for 2015, a shootout at the pre-season Training Camp. Due to demand for places, 25 riders have been pre-selected, but the remaining five places will be decided from the Training Camp, not simply by laptimes on the bike, but by overall performance potential.
