UNI-CUB β, Honda’s Personal Mobility Device to Make Expo Milano Debut

TOKYO, Japan, April 21, 2015 – Honda Motor Co., Ltd. today announced that the Honda personal mobility device, UNI-CUB β^*1, will make appearances at the Japan Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015^*2 (to be held from May 1 through October 31, 2015).

The Japan Pavilion attendants will be riding a UNI-CUB β while giving visitors a tour of the “Live Performance Theatre,” an interactive theatre designed in the image of future restaurants. The UNI-CUB β was developed as a personal mobility device which creates harmony with people. Visitors from all around the world will witness the performance of the pavilion attendants that take advantage of this unique feature of UNI-CUB β.

In April 2014, Honda began the UNI-CUB β rental service for business customers in Japan. As one of the most advanced technologies from Japan, UNI-CUB β will play a role in staging a futuristic space at Expo Milano 2015.

“Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” is the core theme of Expo Milano 2015, which will be held in Milan, Italy. This expo will be the third extensive expo (registered expo) of this century, after Expo 2005 held in Aichi prefecture, Japan and Expo 2010 held in Shanghai, China. For Expo Milano 2015, under the theme of “Harmonious Diversity,” Japan will exhibit diverse initiatives in the areas of agriculture, forestry and fisheries as well as with Japanese foods and the art of dietary culture.
