The first examples of Clarity Fuel Cell, Honda’s most advanced zero emissions vehicle, have arrived in Europe this week. The first six vehicles will be based with customers in London and Copenhagen as part of the Hydrogen for Innovative Vehicles (HyFIVE) demonstration project, partly funded by the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCHJU).

The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell, has received the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) driving range rating of 366 miles (589km) and fuel economy rating of 68 miles per gallon (28.9km/l) of gasoline-equivalent combined , giving it the best range rating of any electric vehicle without a combustion engine, including fuel cell and all-electric vehicles, in the United States.

Honda has made its first delivery of Clarity Fuel Cell to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Honda’s president and CEO, Takahiro Hachigo, delivered the keys to Mr Tsuyoshi Hoshino, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry at a ceremony held at the METI offices.
